Learning Anatomy

I have been itching to take an écorché class at the Grand Central Academy of Art for a couple of years now. It's one thing to draw and paint a model but eventually I grew more interested in what was going on underneath the skin. What were all those protrusions exactly and what was their function? Sculpting an écorché (meaning without skin) model forced me to focus and learn the muscles and bones from an artist's perspective. Two evenings a week plus a few hours on Saturdays as well as the studying that comes with it has been a bit intensive but so much fun and fascination as well. See more of the process on my Facebook page.
